Throughout its history, ASI has identified and developed exclusive relationships with each top producer in its home country. Few, if any companies, can point to vendor partnerships such as the three-generation business relationship between ASI and Zanetti, or the 25-year relationship with SanCor and Conaprole. These long relationships enable ASI and its vendors to ensure quality from vat through delivery and to tailor their products so they are best suited to the U.S. As a vertically integrated company, ASI maintains supervision of all production, both at home and abroad. Many first think of ASI as an importer, and this is natural since the company is the largest importer of hard cheeses in the U.S. But over the past 20 years, ASI also has become a significant producer of domestic cheeses. From its own production facility in Wisconsin, and complemented by facilities in Minnesota, South Dakota and Idaho, the company’s cheeses are created and produced to exacting specifications.
