Cheese Trays, Slices & Cubes
The Elgin, Illinois facility is a leader in sliced products, including Party Trays and Sandwich Slices. The new facility is USDA and Government approved and produces 20 million pounds of sliced cheese packages. Attractive cheese trays are available in 1 lb and 2 lb sizes for Supermarkets and Clubs. The trays offer a range of cheeses and can also include meat.
Sandwich Slices: Available 1 lb or 2 lb packs for Retail and Clubs and 3 lb for food service. Single product / or mix and match for a wide range of both imported and domestic cheeses like Gouda, Havarti, Pepper Jack, Colby Jack and Cheddar.
PET Jars
This innovative product is produced in a clear barrier jar that contains grated, shredded or shaved imported and/or domestic cheese. Arthur Schuman is a leader in supplying this product to Clubs and the larger sized PET Jar is growing in popularity with supermarkets, as well.
ASI’s custom-designed PET line in Fairfield, N.J. is unique. To preserve the optimum flavor, each jar is gas-flushed and the high speed operation easily generates the high volume of product required by major retailers. PET Jar sizes include: 8 oz.; 1 lb and can be as large as 2.25 lb.
Bowls & Cups
Bella Rosa bowls are an innovative, attractive product that go right from the refrigerator to the table.
A new state-of-the-art cupping line has the ability to produce 80 pounds a minute and is fully automatic from cup production through pack off. The line can also apply sleeves to the cups. The line is able to produce single 8 oz. grated or 5 oz. shredded gas-flushed bowls, as well as twin packs of two similar or different products. The cupping line can meet the highest expectations of any outlet.
Bags
High-speed equipment, located in both facilities, has large-scale capacity for press-lock and sealed bags. Both hard and semi-soft are processed on these lines, which grate, shred, shave and cube 28,000 pounds an hour. The line can produce bags which hold a single product, such as shredded Parmesan or cubed Pepper Jack, or deliver custom-blends to spec. ASI is well known as an expert in developing ingredients for food manufacturers, restaurant chains, commissaries and food service distributors serving national chains.
ASI was one of the first in the industry to use press-lock bags for cheese. These are now the industry standard. Bag sizes include 3 lb and 5 lb and industrial sizes ranging from 10 lb-25 lb. Saddle bags are available so consumers and restaurants can open one bag and store another. Shred sizes come in a full range, from an 1/8” shred to a delicate angel hair shred. Bag products are available in a full line of both hard and semi-hard cheeses.
Tubs & Canisters
Many segments of the food industry need dehydrated, shelf stable products. These are available in 1 lb canisters and 5 lb tubs.
Cuts & Wedges
These can be prepared in either tight cryovac or multivac.
Food service and retail companies today prefer to have bulk products in smaller sized units that are easier to handle. ASI’s cutting capabilities can produce 1/2, 1/4 and 1/8 wheels. Wedges can be 1-1.5 lb for Clubs or and 5 oz.-8 oz. for Retail, as the customer requires.
