By far, the Zanetti company is the largest exporter of Italian Parmesans to the U.S. Its Parmesans, exclusively imported by Arthur Schuman for three generations, have become the pre-eminent brand, known for superior quality and consistency. Zanetti is the largest producer of Grana Padano in Italy and one of the largest curers of Parmigiano-Reggiano. At any given time, Zanetti has more than 500,000 wheels in cure. All Zanetti products are 100% Zanetti produced or cured. There is no spot buying of Zanetti cheeses, which means that all cheese can be traced from vat through export. This is a claim few, if any other exporters, can make. All Zanetti cheese is hand-selected for export to the U.S.

The Zanetti operation is extensive and the company continues to invest to meet its growth in the U.S. The headquarter office is in Lallio, where the company maintains a large curing facility and a separate section for specialty cheeses. The production of Grana Padano takes place in Marmirola and the curing for Parmigiano- Reggiano, which is contract produced from only the best farms in Reggio-Emilio, is cured in Panocchio and Parma. A number of other smaller facilities are used for maturation, as well. The Zanetti grating and packaging facility is in Lavis. Curing and sales for Provolone are in Cremona.

One of the advantages of two large companies working together for such a long time is that ASI and Zanetti can easily coordinate any special requests from customers. Zanetti’s large supply of cheese enables customers to receive a unique selection tailored to its needs.
